Love Shooting Star. Have tried other programs, and none are this user
friendly. Even with the small bugs in the beta programs, the support
is immediate and courteous. This is the program to buy. I purchased

SLICK! That's the word that for me best describes Shooting Star.
Anyone having some success with buying and selling items on Ebay will
quickly realize the need for good auction tracking software. Within a
few weeks of discovering Ebay I was downloading demos and searching
the net for a program to fit my needs. I found many. Some made nice
ads, some just tracked the auctions, and one or two did both and
more. I quickly saw what could be done, but didn't like the way in
which it was being done.
Then I discovered Shooting Star.
Here is a truly user friendly piece of software that streamlines much
of the work of seeing an auction through from start to finish. It's
one of those rare software programs that does exactly what it says it
will, and does it smoothly and easily. It's essentially a database in
disguise, taking the power of a database and hiding it in an easily
understood and very functional interface.
In a few seconds I can check the status of all my
auctions....updating the stats is just a mouse click away. There is
no more logging on to Ebay and going through the search to see my
auctions. In fact with just one click I can now open a counter page
and see every auction with individual amount bid, total amount bid,
and number of hits.
Everything anyone could want is there. Compose one ad or several with
the built in editor, adding descriptions in any font on your system,
add pictures and a counter...then upload them singly or through
Mister Lister.
Simply click the update button to bring the new listings into the
Shooting Star main interface. The program now starts to track the
auctions through user determined time settings. When each stage of
the process moves through the time interval it automatically moves to
a setting which reminds you that the seller for instance has or has
not sent payment, or has not yet responded to an e-mail, or has just
sent you feedback. At a glance you always know the status of any auction.
Shooting Star generates appropriate e-mail at each stage of the
auction. Users can modify the e-mail as needed, but in most cases the
default is perfect, greatly reducing the amount of time needed for
routine auction correspondence, and at the same time keeping each
buyer and seller completely informed of the transaction to the very
end. I find this has resulted in very favorable positive feedback.
Buyers sending you their hard earned dollars feel much more secure
when getting a series of emails updating them on the sale.
The feedback tracking feature is particularly nice and has greatly
enhanced my feedback rating as some people naturally procrastinate.
And since Shooting Star has prompted you to send feedback for each
buyer and makes it so easy to do so at the appropriate stage in the
auction, you need not hesitate in asking a buyer to reciprocate when
the transaction is finished. It's simply a matter of another
pre-designed email sent off with a couple of mouse clicks. I've found
it extremely effective in generating feedback you probably would
otherwise never get.
If you're a buyer rather than a seller, Shooting Star tracks the
transaction in exactly the same way.
During the final stage of the process when the sale has been
completed, the money is in your bank account and the buyer has his
package and has sent you feedback , Shooting Star then automatically
removes your ad picture(s) from the server, after asking for approval
of course in case you have several similar items and want to keep the photographs.
In addition if for some reason you want to bypass the automatic
progression of the program, you can manually at any time set any
auction to any stage.
Finally, I have to say a word about Shooting Star support. Never have
I encountered software developers as dedicated as this group! Any
questions I've had have been responded to immediately and the rare
bug report I've filed has often been fixed the same day!

Great software as well as great people who are really dedicated to
customer support and a quality product!
This software is the only one I found that really addresses the true
needs of an eBay seller!

Ditto, Ditto, and Ditto. What more can I say.
Our eBay business took off like crazy last December and I was getting
pretty frustrated. I had also reviewed the other auction management
systems and found they just didn't quite meet my needs.
This package is SUPER, I can't tell you how much time I have saved in
e-mail and feedbacks alone. And I love being able to pull my images
when I want and not just automatically. :-)
Absolutely the best support. I had problems getting set up at first,
(eh, user error as it turned out) and got fast and painless responses
and fixes.
Would recommend to anyone selling on eBay. :-)

I have tried Easy Auction, Auction Assistant Pro, and every other
auction program I could find. Once I found Shooting Star, I
deleted ALL of my other auction software. SHOOTING STAR DOES
EVERYTHING! I just want to say thanks Foo Dog Software for
building this program. It has all the power of Auction
Assistant Pro, plus features that you don't know you need until you
have them. I'm just starting up my auction business and I
wanted to start out with the right auction program. Try the free

I just downloaded Shooting Star yesterday and I can't turn my
computer off.This is THE best, most exciting ebay software I've ever
seen and I've seen them all, and tried all of the programs . Also,
this is the first time I have taken the time to write a software
company. I love this software, I love the name Foo Dog, you guys are
a fantastic company with fantastic software at a great price Thanks
for putting a great, well thought out product out. I'll be purchasing
it this week.

IT'S THE BEST!!! I can't believe I didn't find any info on this on
Ebay's boards, but you can bet I will add some! I searched for weeks
for a program to manage my Ebay business, and all were either too
inundated with complicated set up and procedures or were missing
important features I felt I needed (such as upload of Ebay fees,
letting you know if the bidder had left feedback, profit and loss,
etc.) This one has it ALL!!! PLUS you can list your auctions as well!
I have yet to try that feature, but will be doing so today. I have no
doubt it will be fantastic. It's easy, user-friendly and makes record
keeping a snap.

Whether you are a casual seller, buyer, or run part of your business
through ebay, Shooting Star WILL save you time, make ebay fun again!
I downloaded and tried several auction products (at least 8), and
this one is head and shoulders above all the rest.
Honestly, EVERYTHING is automated. I've recommended it to several
ebayers that commented on the speed and accuracy of my correspondence.
Installation was the most intuitive of any product I tested. Selling
is a breeze, buying the same. I know where EVERY transaction is in
the process, without one printout or cumbersome email folders.
Have a question like I did? It took about an hour to get feedback
from their site...a pleasure any way you look at it.

Very slick! This is the most user friendly software I have used. I
have sampled Auction Assistant Pro, Auction Wizard, and
MyAuctionMate. I have used Auction Assistant Classic for several
years, but finally decided I needed to upgrade to a program that
helps manage the entire eBay process. Shooting Star practically does
it all for you. With the other programs I sampled, I found myself
having to hunt for what I needed to do next. It will take me some
time to get used to the ad creation as compared to AA Classic, but I
think the benifits will out weigh the temporary learning curve time.
Thanks for a great program. I will be making my purchase before the
end of the month.

I LOVE THIS PROGRAM! I can not possibly tell you how much time and
energy you have saved me. I started off with Auction Watch, but
wasn't impressed with their post-sale process. I kept them for bulk
posting, but started using GoTo for my post-sale. When GoTo announced
their fees, I started looking for something a little less costly. Why
pay $19.95 a month when I could just buy the software? I found you
through the online auction users association and have been thrilled

I finally broke down Sunday night and gave the software a good
workout. I love it! My 17 auctions that ended that night were
completed in minutes instead of hours. The more I delve into the
features the more impressed I am. Now if only you could write
something to pack my boxes and drive them to the post office :-)

Wow.
I have been an eBayer for over a year but found managing my auctions
a tedious affair. I tried about a half dozen auction management

Believe it or not, this is the 4th auction software I bought for eBay
and I have only used it a short time, however, the tech support gets
back to me very fast, the program has so many great features and the
only thing I regret is that I didn't buy this one first which would
have saved me a couple hundred dollars and a zillion hours of bugs
and headaches.
If you are selling or buying on eBay, there is no reason that you
shouldn't take the time to download the 30 day free trial.

seen. It allows you to track selling or buying in a logical manner.
It allows you to track the auctions, send emails to buyers, send
feedback and prepare your items for shipment, producing shipping
invoices, lists and labels easily. If you have been looking for a
fool-proof way to manage your auctions, you must try Shooting Star

Shooting Star has been very well designed and implemented. Extremely
efficient and offers many features I had never thought I would need.
It makes keeping track of an auction's status so easy that I don't
even need paper anymore! What a relief.
As for support - well, it's just great and the owners should be very
proud of the reputation they are building. Ebay is not the easiest
companies in the world to keep up with and I commend the hard work
the owners of Shooting Star have put into keeping their software
current with ebay. This cannot possibly be easy!!I
I look forward to the day when it will work with other auction venues.
I have tried all the others - and I decided to purchase this software
because it WORKS! And so easy to implement and use. I had trouble
with all of the others out there (including the infamous and now
defunct AAPRO) and I have to say, this software is far and away the
most troublefree of all of them. That is saying a lot since I am a
programming professional and am familiar with how easy it is to make
a simple mistake that causes the whole system to come tumbling down.
This software WORKS and WORKS WELL!! Thank you, guys. I am very
gratefull that Shooting Star is available and I have no plans to try
another product.
Price-wise - Shooting Star is a steal. I've tried one that is cheaper
but it didn't work. So, the old saying, 'you get what you pay for' is
certainly true in this case. I also tried a more expensive product
but it was so complicated that I just couldn't keep track of where I
was without constantly referring to the help pages. Not what I want
in a software package.
If an upgrade is made available and there is a charge made for it, I
will be first in line to purchase it. I do not believe in
rented/leased software, and I don't want one of those 'pay as you go'
on-line software packages. I'm always afraid their site will crash.
Besides, it's difficult to judge just how much you are spending for
that software. With purchased software, I don't feel the need to
include the cost of the software in my starting price. I consider
purchasing the software to be a cost of doing business that I will
write off as a business expense and be done with it. With those
on-line packages, you are constantly paying. Same is true of the
software you must 'subscribe' to.
So, thanks again, to Shooting Star and to the hard working folks who
have put their expertise to work for the good of the on-line auction community. |

I am not one that writes to companies but I am making this an exception.
I have been an Invenna user and was astonished at how well the
program made my ebay life easier. When I found out they were closing
there operations I had to find an alternate management tool.
It was a one week nightmare of downloading all kinds of junk for
trial. I finally gave up when my wife decided to step in and we found
Shooting Star.
To be honest the only real problem I have found is that it is so easy
to use. I keep looking for complex solutions and there are none.
It has been some time since I looked forward to paying for shareware.
Paying for Shooting Star will be my pleasure.

I want to say this is THE BEST Ebay auction software I have found to
date. I have been an Ebay buyer for years, and recently started
selling too. This software does it ALL. Heres my personal breakdown.
I found this on Friday the 27th of July 2001, but it was late at
night so I gave it a cursurary look.The next day saturday I sat down
and looked it over and I was impressed,but there were a few things I
had questions about,so even tho I hadnt purchased it, I emailed
support. Within a few hours I had a response.I was impressed,so I
bought it off the net.I sat daown and went to work. I currently have
10 auctions on Ebay that I put on in one sitting saturday afternoon.
Now with just a few clicks I can see what Im buying,see what Im
selling and see how many hits Ive had. I have already emailed the
owners of Foodog software and told them how impressed I am with this
program, but I think everyone should know. Now, before I found this
program, I had purchased at least a half a dozen different auction
programs, but NONE come close to doing what this one does. Some of
the others were downright bad, some were ok, and others were pretty
darn good....but why settle for pretty darn good when you can have
AWESOME? They even helped with problems not related to their
program...and within hours. I purchased another software program (
not an auction utilty) at the same time and I have yet to receive the
registration information. I got it from Foodogsoftware within hours.I
cannot say enough about this product....I can say that when they
reopen their reseller program, I will be the first to sign up. Thanks
